Women's Adventure Grant: Supporter- Sue Wellington

The Women's Adventure Grant is a truly wonderful idea and I'm sure it will make a lot of difference to women embarking on great missions. I found it very difficult to get brands and adventure retailers to take me seriously and therefore all my equipment was bought with only the odd membership discount here and there. They were very uninterested and I guess a mirror of society - they get used to a certain "look" I guess. To be honest, though, that drove me! I just knew I had to push myself and strive harder. It made me realise how passionate I was about my cause. However, when there is SO much to organise, financial help could be the difference between whether someone gets their dream off the ground or not, so I truly wish you all the very best in your quest to make this happen! Sue Wellington is from Geraldton, WA, and at the ripe old age of 52, (her words) is hit the road with her trolley "The Ladies' Auxillary" for Alzheimer's Disease. Since April 2017, Sue has walked from her Melbourne home to Geraldton, approximately 4500 km's to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s Australia Dementia Research Foundation a disease her family knows only too well. Sue has raised almost $29000 of her original $25000 target so far on her quest. She plans to arrive in Geraldton, the completion of her journey, Sat 18th November.
