In this moment I realised that despite my fear & vulnerability, there was no where else on earth I would rather be, especially not indoors. I turned towards the trail and told myself to take just one step. Then another. Soon my hands were pumping my thighs, turning my legs into pistons that powered from my greater sense of purpose.
When it comes to getting out of your comfort zone and living large, your inner voice has infinite power, it can see you celebrating at the finish line with champagne or sitting on the sidelines in tears.
Taking risks allows us to find our boundaries and redefine our limits of possibilities. But have you ever wondered why some days challenging yourself to step up, try something new, take risks and push your boundaries you find totally exhilarating while other days just stepping outside your front door can feel like the biggest risk you’re up for that day?
I've always been a nonstop happiness seeker, even on my worst days, I really try hard to find a positive. I'm the type that on long drives, I don't ask my husband, "Are we there yet?" I meditate on life and ask myself, "what can I do to make life better, more fun, more meaningful, more exciting". Yep. That's me. I'm forever trying to top up my glass, a glass half full is not my style and I love my glass to be mixed like a cocktail, shaken not stirred, with lots of fun, adventure and experiences.
Most adventure orientated media is of the Bear Grylls or Survivor variety or the sexy near naked images of young females type, once again appealing to men. As a fit and active adventuress in her forties, I have to ask: why is adventure deemed less appropriate for females?
