Review - Wacaco Minipresso
TPL Overall Rating: 4 /5
Lets just say, this little coffee maker, may just be the difference between getting my hubby camping or not – now they just need to make one with wi-fi (joking!)
Product Description Technical Specs :
The minipresso is perfect for your next adventure, business trip or every day use - In fact a few people we spoke to mentioned they had travelled to the States with it, due to the local coffee being pretty average. With it's compact and lightweight design it is easy to fit in your pack and take with you. This minipresso gives you the option to use the ground coffee of your choice and with the help of the semi-automatic piston you will have an amazing espresso with a generous crema!
- Use the ground coffee of your choice - I would recommend a finely ground bean.
- Makes up to 50ml of espresso
- Creates a generous crema
- Weight: 360 grams
- Water capacity: 70ml
- Dimensions: 175x70x60mm
Quality / Design: 4/5
This is a great little machine for those of you who truly appreciate a REALLY good coffee. It is cleverly designed, easy to assemble. The only downside is it only makes 1 shot at a time, so this is NOT the item for you if you are trying to make multiple espressos for friends.
The founder of Wacaco has a masters degree in industrial design and is passionate about his coffee and his innovation shows through in this little gem.
Function / Practicality: 3/5
For the coffee connoisseur function and practicality may take a back seat to the delicious crema this machine produces. It can be a little fiddly, and every time I made a coffee, the girls thought there was a baby bird squawking away somewhere when I used the pump, but you know nature and stuff.
For the hardcore hiker who is super aware of the amount of weight they are carrying, this could be considered too much of a luxury and if that is the case, perhaps an aeropress is a better option.
