Changing the world, one bike at a time
My adventure journey started nearly 15 years ago with a bike - I bike I helped purchase in a remote village in the Philippines so that community leaders could access remote villages to get supplies to families in need. Then in 2013 along with 19 other women we cycled across Cambodia to raise awareness of Human Trafficking & young children being rescued from the sex industry - this trip was a big impetus for the creation of Travel Play Live. So when this came across my desk, how could I say no?
"BIKES for school students. We have 23 children who each need a bike to get to school. Would you like to buy a Cambodian child a bike? $35 USD or $44 AUD or $48 NZD."
We put out a call over on our social media in in less than 48hours we had more than enough not only to purchase the bikes, but to all so assist with emergency needs.
We would like to extend A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who helped out - we are so much better together. I recently received this note and photos from The Princess Project:
"The children are over the moon absolutely ecstatic to receive such a generous gift. They can’t stop saying thank you!! There’s a few more kids who are getting lessons and learning how to ride before we can give them their bikes. They’re learning the new skill quickly and absolutely loving it!!Your friends and you have made an enormous difference to their lives. They are thrilled to be able to ride to school and are treasuring their precious bikes! Thank you very much." The Princess Project
