In 2014, the Dirt Maidens Challenge attracted 105 female participants from Jindabyne, Cooma, Canberra, Cootamundra, Albury-Wodonga and as far as Phillip Island in Victoria. With the aim of keeping things small and personable, we have decided to cap the number of entries, and this year we expect places to fill fast.
The aim of the event is to encourage more women to try the sport of MTB by providing an opportunity to set goals, get moving, and challenge themselves in a social and encouraging environment. It is also about creating a fun weekend for the girls. Bring your partners, friends, families, and enjoy the growing network of trails in the Snowy Mountains.
We have a theme each year, and this year there will be no teams -so all participants will have the same dress code. The theme is VINTAGE FLORAL… how pretty!

Dirt Maidens Race Format
This year participants can choose to do the cross country only, or for the more intermediate and advanced riders, they can register to do both.
*If at any time you feel uncomfortable riding a section of trail, you are welcome to hop off your bike and walk. If you stop at any time, it is wise to move off to the left to let riders behind you pass.
The cross country event caters for all levels of rider. Competitors ride as many laps of a set course (7.5km loop) as they possibly can in a set time of 100 minutes. Competitors can ride as many or as few laps as they wish. The trails for this course are rated green and easy blue.
This year, the gravity course is more technical, and designed for intermediate and advanced riders. Numbers are limited to 60 riders for this event, so register quickly before places fill up! A wait list will be created once places are filled.
There will be a juniors race for mini maidens aged 4-10. This will take place at the event centre where everyone can watch and cheer whilst resting up before the Gravity race. If a junior aged between 10-16 would like to enter the main event, this is possible, however please contact us to discuss.
If you would like to register your 'mini maiden' for this event, please email email@example.com
The cross country loop is 7-8km in length, so participants can choose to do as many or as few laps as they choose.
The gravity course is around 2km in length, and participants are required to ride/walk to the start of the descent. This requires a good level of fitness.
