Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.
You know what happens when women band together, put aside their fears, uncertainties, assumptions and apathy – the world changes.
That was beautifully demonstrated this morning at the re-birth of the annual ‘Santaconda’ Treasure Hunt in Forster Tuncurry. We saw nearly 100 women from local businesses, churches, gyms, sporting groups, schools and council band together for a FUN’draising good time in aid of UN Women National Committee Australia’s 2016 Ride for Rights.
In March 2016 Amy will be joining a team of women riding through Vietnam and Cambodia in aid of the work the UN is doing there. UN Women is currently working in 96 countries. UN Women is the United Nations agency dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. They are working in Vietnam to support rural women and girls in four critical areas: education & training, participation in decision making, access to productive resources and health and wellbeing.
We can’t wait to bring you stories from the tour and share the awesome work being done there. Stay tuned, and a massive thank you to all of today’s participants you are world changers.
